Old Days

March 6, 2008 08:19 by Marty

I found these old pics on my computer that were taken at Liverpool Maccas back in 2003. This was about 2 weeks after I bought the granny spec donor car. I'd fitted the 13" dragways that came off my old UC and fitted a black bonnet with an A9X scoop. It was still running the stock as a rock 173. The car sucked, but it was good to take it out for a cruise. For some reason people thought it was hot shit and always gave me the thumbs up when I'd drive past. We were hanging out at the maccanats waiting to go watch some street racing on Long St. We parked next to this heaps cool LH running a B&M low blow. As far as I know this car still exists today and is even better now.

Granny Spec Torana

December 16, 2007 15:50 by Marty

Here's a photo that I took the day I bought my torry. I bought it off the original owner. It had 400,000kms on the clock, but the old bloke had re-conditioned just about everything over the years. It's factory colour was called Jasime Yellow and it had a brown interior. It ran a 173ci and M20 (4 speed). It pulled a good skid for a stocker!

Stocker Torana

It only stayed looking like this for a couple of days before I started modifying it. One day I'll post some more pics of the car's "former glory".

My Shed Burnout

November 13, 2007 19:45 by Marty

Here's an old video of my torana in it's previous form. This is right before I stripped it down to rebuild. Back then it was running a tough 330ci stroker holden, aussie 4 speed (M21) and the infamous banjo diff.

Not my best work, I decided to do heel toe job to try and hold it on the spot since there wasn't much room to play with. It's a shame the crappy tyres didn't want to produce any smoke..
